Dr. Elhassan Abd El-Mohaymen Allam

My name is Elhassan Abd El-Mohaymen Allam; 34 years old from Alexandria, Egypt. In June, 2008 I have received my B.Sc degree in Chemistry from faculty of science, Tanta University. After that I pursued a M.Sc degree in Inorganic Chemistry at Alexandria University. In September 2013, I have received my M.Sc degree entitled “Synthesis and Characterization of Some Nanomaterials and Their Absorption Behaviors of Gamma Rays”. In November 2017, I have received my Ph.D. degree entitled “Synthesis, Characterization, and Implementation of Some Nanocomposite materials for Removal of Some Radioactive Isotopes from Wastewater”.

Now, Iam doing my postdoctoral research in Alexandria University, Actually, I’m interested in material science for diverse technological applications. My work is divided into three main parts and I have one future direction;

The First Part is based on the synthesis and characterization of functionalized MOFs based nanomaterials, their composites with clays, polymers and chelating agents to apply them for the adsorptive removal of radioactive nuclides, heavy elements, and organic contaminants as well radiation shielding.

The Second Part is based on the shielding of gamma radiation by nanomaterials mixed with recycled plastic waste, preparation of new glasses based on dense nano metal oxides well as the doping of cement or intercalation of clays with dense nano metal oxides.

The Third Part is based on the design of new nanocomposites based on Mexenes, like nano silicon carbide to apply them towards neutrons particles shielding with a strong emphasis on their mechanical and thermal properties for use in building materials of nuclear reactors.

Future Directions is based on the recycling of nuclear waste to convert it into a sustainable source of energy.
